All of our eye doctors and staff are trained and equipped to triage, diagnose, and/or treat all of your emergency eye care needs.
Urgent eye care or an ocular emergency is any event where your ocular health and vision may be at risk. These events require prompt treatment in order to prevent permanent vision loss.
**If you are having an ocular emergency, please phone us so that we can schedule you appropriately and advise you on what steps to take. If one of our doctors is not immediately available to assist or direct you, report to the nearest emergency room.**
WHERE SHOULD I GO FOR EMERGENCY EYE CARE
When I have an acute ocular or visual concern and need urgent eye care?
Many people are confused about whether they should go to their optometrist? An emergency room? Their family doctor? Or a walk-in clinic?
In most instances, our eye clinic should be your first stop. Our eye doctors are trained to diagnose and manage acute and urgent ocular and vision-threatening events. Our optometrists will make sure any ocular and visual medical concern is addressed during your visit. In the event that surgical or further medical intervention is needed, we will ensure that a proper and prompt referral is made to an appropriate specialist the first time.
This makes the optometry office the most efficient stop for most acute ocular condition
We can save you from bouncing around many different providers to obtain an appropriate diagnosis, and then another referral for treatment.
