Specialty Lens Clinic

Scleral Lenses, Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses, and Orthokeratology

Our specialty contact lens clinic provides unique and custom solutions to your visual needs. Some ocular conditions, diseases, and surgeries can cause irregularities to the front of the eye (the cornea) which can lead to less than optimal vision with traditional glasses and contact lenses. During our contact lens exams we design and custom fit contact lenses to account for these irregularities at Prpic Eyecare Centre with the goal to provide you with vision that is as clear and as sharp as it was in the past. We also perform orthokeratology which can allow you to see clearly without having contact lenses or glasses on the eyes.

Orthokeratology - Corneal Reshaping Technology

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) was initially designed as a non-surgical procedure that can eliminate your need for daytime contact lenses or glasses. By wearing these specialty lenses as you sleep, they are able to reshape your cornea and provide you with clear comfortable vision without glasses or contact lenses being worn throughout the day. Ortho-K is a great option for patients of many ages and is a very safe and effective procedure that we are very happy to offer at Prpic Eye Care Centre. If you are interested in being free of glasses or contact lenses, contact our office to book an appointment for an Ortho-K fitting or to determine your eligibility.

New research now supports Ortho-K as an effective Myopia Control technique. Not only are you, or your child, able to be free of glasses or contact lenses throughout the day, but there is the added benefit of slowing down the progression of myopia at the same time. For more information on Myopia Control please visit the Myopia Control tab or call our office.
